Our story
We cook the way we’d want to be fed.
Alive started with a small room, a wood oven, and a stubborn belief that a neighbourhood deserves somewhere honest to eat — any day of the week, any time of day.

How it started
We opened in a space that had been three other restaurants before us. The walls were thin, the kitchen was small, and the rent was a leap. What we had was a great supplier two streets over and a few recipes worth cooking for strangers.
Word got around the way it does in a good neighbourhood — slowly, then all at once. People came for the duck and stayed for the wine. They brought their parents. They booked the back table for things that mattered.
We’re not trying to reinvent dinner. We’re just trying to make yours better.
What we believe
Three things we don’t compromise on.
01
Made here
Bread, stock, pasta, dessert — almost all of it is made in our kitchen, most of it that morning.
02
Slow by design
Your table is yours for the night. We’ll never hand you the bill before you’ve asked for it.
03
Everyone’s welcome
Solo at the bar, a table of ten, a Tuesday or a birthday. Come as you are, leave a regular.
